Vicky Sometani first began making waves with her distinctive voice after moving to London from New York. Since then she has become well established within the London acoustic scene, playing over 60 shows, including internationally for London based Sofar Sounds who specialise in promoting intimate gigs for music aficionados and on the 6-oclock news with London Live.
Sometani’s debut single, ‘Breeze’, released in 2019, reached number four in the iTunes Top Singer/Songwriter charts, and was highlighted on BBC Introducing London, and Soho Radio. Since then, Sometani released her debut EP, ‘Come To You’ with London based Laid Bare Records featuring live interviews on BBC Radio London and Hoxton Radio, as well as was featured on Louder Than War, Line of Best Fit, Equate Magazine, and Fashion Soundtrack to name a few.
Sometani’s music as eloquently described by XS Noise delivers ‘pared-down jazz-inflected folk balladry that exudes a frayed, blues-torn tenor and interweaving rippling fret-scaling guitar dexterity with lyrical finesse.
